Right. So I get a message from some random classmate telling me there's no class tomorrow because the tutor was down with H1N1 sick, and after spending half of a quarter of an hour trying to confirm this unexpected bliss, here I am with a once-in-a-purple-moon post.
-----------------------------------
'Bout polytechnic first.
First term was virtually a sleeper's land. IMO NOTHING was happening at all (Read: I was FUCKING bored). See following list for reasons:
1) I wanted to join Bowling, but I couldn't find the booth which was parked in between super-flashy Archery and some other CCAs. So I sent a mail to them...
2) I wanted to get into games reviewing, but even though I sent in my best composition piece (Rated M18+ for gory violence to animals), I wasn't accepted, yet Wei Hao was. So much for good English.
(Yeah, that's all.)
Now on to my holidays. It was supposed to be two weeks, but term test made it feel like three instead. Played through the whole holidays...
Oh yeah, and went to some mass interview to work at WCG2009, but I didn't get any calls.
When I returned, I got chased out of class on my first day back to business because I didn't finish anything. Stupid, stupid lazy me.
And one week later, I returned again with some incomplete work. Got a verbal bashing. Really hurt. But I swear I worked hard this time.
Then today, I finally got a reply email from the TP Bowling Team, telling me that trials were over, and that I can try again next year. How long did it take them to reply to a simple "Can I join the trials?" mail sent 3 months ago, one day after the CCA orientation?
Finally I signed up for IITSC (Informatics & IT Studies Club, though according to insiders, it hardly lives up to its name. I'll wring the neck of anyone who dubs it "Mugging". Seriously.) If I don't get accepted into that...who knows what I'll do.
-----------------------------------
Recently, I went to a class outing organised by Sheng Yao (thanks a million). I arrived late since I came from the Polytechnic and found out the rest of the group were all on bicycles. And I walked towards them, not knowing East Coast Park was so huge. Hell, I thought I was going to end up at Punggol Beach.
And after...two hours of walking to and fro, I finally officially met up with the class. First thing I noticed was Shaun Kam (who, technically, as much as you would like to argue, isn't from 4E2). Then next I noticed the class divided into three groups. The Boys group, the Girls group (made up of five), and the Shaun Kam group (playing football). Pitiful.
Then we went to Ang Mo Kio for dinner. The group then broke up; Some of us went home, the rest went for a late night movie.
Right now, I just can't help but feel why there're so many ungrateful bastards (note: bastards = male) in 4E2.
*Goes off to play piano...*
BREAKING NEW! I BRING...
A NEW RECORD!
90 words
Lol.
Alright, I'm behind schedule. So without further ado, I'll shall get started on my recall of the oh-so-very-awesome-I'm-serious 2nd and 3rd day of Orientation, the first day of my Poly life, and MAYBE about today too.
-------------------------------
2nd Day Orientation: Woke up (at home, if you haven't read the previous post), did my blah blah blah and went for breakfast. Macdonalds.
Reached TP before nine, and found out my care group (or class) has not assembled in the Lecture Theatre yet, so I figured they were still at the Sports Hall and tried (note: "tried") to make my way there. STILL got lost in the end, with one idiot Junior/Senior in the Business School (no offense, but he really is a jerk) smirking at my predicament when I asked him for directions. In the end, I met an OL (Orientation Leader) in charge of my school (Informatics and IT or IIT) and after some time I'm finally reunited with my care group.
Breakfast was a box of tao geh bee hoon. Ugh. Luckily I bothered to eat my breakfast before I came, else I'll probably starve for the entire day.
Station game's after this. We had:
1) Real-life Table Soccer (Don't know how else I can call this, but it involves real bodies).
2) Something like Taboo, but involves actions only and popular stuff like movies. I got Naruto. How lucky.
3) Imagine 4 squares. Now imagine 15 rows of them. Each row has 3 mines and one safe spot. Step on the mine, and you get splashed. Loser team gets their OL sabo'ed. In the end ours didn't get sabo'ed because we apparently took the game a little too seriously.
4) This is a sick game. So I'm not going to describe it here.
5) Jigsaw puzzles, but pieces must be obtained from answering English (unscrambling), Maths (simple as heck), and Science (anything but Bio-related) questions. It was literally a night desert over there because the station was located in an air-conditioned room and we entered totally soaked.
After all these followed a mini-concert, performance by all the courses in IIT. We had Bingo Binguo. What a fluke, more than five of us got the exact same numbers.
And then we went home.
Next day...
-------------------------------
3rd Day Orientation: T'was fun. We had a Dragonboat competition. Business, unexpectedly, won everything as if it was nothing.
Then we had dinner with our OL's and chatted until 10-plus.
-------------------------------
1st Day Poly: In a nutshell, we played messed with computer games for the entire day because our lecturer was MIA.
And then, dinner with our OL's again.
-------------------------------
Not talking about the second day cause it's a pain in the ass to type about it.
-------------------------------
Seriously, my quality of writing gradually worsens as I write more...
On my first day. Reason? I forgot to sign that *insert long incorrigible nonsensical explicative here* indemnity form. In fact, I forgot to fill the damn thing up since the first day I received the letter regarding the orientation and only realised it when I decided to flip through my pages DURING THE JOURNEY. Could've gotten my mum to come sign it for me but hey, house's more comfortable. I'll be returning tomorrow.
-----------------
So here's the quick summary of the first day:
1) I got my class already. Same with WH, but no girls. In fact, there are only 9 girls in Games and Entertainment Technology (GET from now on). Sad to say, this is the record number. Not that I care, but I really appreciate gender equality
2) Learnt...*starts finger counting*... ... ... ... ...*stops*...a record number of new cheers and dance steps, AND a sign language song I'll probably be bellowing using for the three years I'm in Poly.
3) I didn't get to see any computers in TP today. Damn, so sleepy. Talking about computers, the projector apparently had a visual problem. Screen turned yellow.
4) Met interesting OLs (guessing Orientation Leaders). One of them likes photo booth pranks.
5) We're having a skit tomorrow night. I'm not participating, but I gave an idea called "10 reasons why Maple Story sucks", with emphasis on the "sucks". To my surprise, despite its popularity, the OLs don't play Maple Story. But once again, not all of them are from GET.
6) I'm not going to rant on how messy the teaching of the TP dance and the IIT (Informatics & IT) dance was.
7) Food, surprisingly, sucked.
I just think orientation kinda of sucks... Oh well.
Let's see... I doing this tag thingy on courtesy of Ama, Ziana, Huiyi and Sophia, maybe still going...

(Dennis) As a friend, yes. He hates me, though.
I finally got the pain-in-the-ass enrolment done on Monday, wherein after I splashed $25 on bowling. Yes, I'm mad about it, probably because I cannot bear to see myself suck at all sports.
I don't know why, but for some reason I get easily drowsy these days. On Monday while I was taking the bus to Ang Mo Kio to collect my medical report I dozed off and missed the destination by one stop. I was lucky on that occasion, but what gonna happen to me if it occurs again? I don't want to end up in Tuas (that was exaggeration).
Went to celebrate TKY's birthday in advance today. Forgot to wish him Happy Birthday in advance.
DISCLAIMER: I'm in such a good mood right now I don't know what I'm typing. So please do not flame me, send me death threats, incense papers or pictures of my face in an obituary. Thank you.
----------------------------------------
Weekly sports for me, I guess. Played Bowling and Pool again, this time also with Shaun and Jun Tat. I finally adapted to a style of throwing straight in Bowling and improved my shooting in Pool.
----------------------------------------
Bowling: Apparently Jun Tat and Shaun got into their school team very recently (the day before, I suppose). Nothing special happened apart from the fact I finally carved out a throwing style to remedy my I-can't-effing-throw-straight-gawddammit! problem. It worked wonders, to my surprise, since I was using a heavier ball than usual. However, straight, weakly-powered balls don't give strikes, and my aiming is too atrocious to earn myself spares. Gotta train on that next time.
And... I played until my index finger hurt. And how it hurt when it's not used to bowl, only my finger knows.
-------------------------------------
Pool: Shaun is seriously not bad, but if he was as good as they made him out to be, then I guess he's off form today. Our last game was a race to 10 points and the rules are, apart from the normal rules:
First to reach 10: Don't pay.
Second to reach: Pay 10% of total.
Third: Pay 20% of total
Fourth: Pay 30%
Fifth, the last: 40%
And the results:
First: Shaun. He was very lucky, because of the extreme unluckiness of Marcus.
Second: Kwang Yong. He got it because Marcus dropped points, literally.
Third: Marcus. He was at 9 for a period of time, but every time he potted a ball, his cue ball also decided to meet the same end. Then came a shot where he could've lost FOUR points because he hit the ball(s) so hard the cue ball and the target came flying out and according to our rules, "Ball fly out = minus 2". He was saved two points because I was leaning against the rail.
Fourth: Me. I made the luckiest shot of my life (may explain here if I feel like it). Getting fourth wasn't any use however, since I paid for everything before I received payments.
Fifth: Tat. Nothing to say about him other than he wasted free shots. REALLY REALLY free shots.
At least I know I've improved in my aiming.
--------------------------------------
And then after all this was over, I had dinner by myself. Wow.
--------------------------------------
I got shortlisted for the schorlarship on Tuesday, 8 days before the scheduled interview. I have to wear formal (wtf?) and bring documents, not excluding:
'(e) any other documents that may reflect your leadership and suitability for this award. Letters of recommendation from your Principal or Head of Department should also be included, if available.'
(even more WTF!!??!?!?!?).
And with that, I can only pray.
