Knowing Me...

Topic: Why am I so "xia lan"?

Gotta thank someone for giving me this idea of a topic. One that doesn't talk a lot about school life that is. Call it an article if you wish.

As everyone in the world already knows, there will always be xia lan people around the world. Why are there xia lan people? Allow me to tell you:

1. Chromosomes are the tiny "stuff" that explains why some people look and act like their father while some look and act like their mother. "Xia lan-ness" is considered a characteristic.
2. You get influenced by your friends.
3. You get influenced by TV-shows.
4. You influence yourself. Confusing eh? Scroll down.

You guys know about chromosomes, you know how they work, so I won't elaborate. (2) and (3) are quite common.

Now how the HELL am I gonna explain (4)? Hm... Just say that during your young days you are considered smart. Then everytime you meet some people who are, to you, not as intelligent, you try to be a smart alec and help them, all the time.

I do not deny, that I was and still a xia lan kia. I go into reason (4). Don't ask me why. I don't remember my younger days. All I know is that the explanation (4) WAS how I knew myself to be one.

Being xia lan once in a while over studies is nothing. But if you are seen being one too often then you will be severely disliked. I was like that once but trust me, I've more or less changed.

I still find myself sounding a bit xia lan once in a while. Sometimes it's by habit, otherwise I could not think of a better way of saying what I want to say. Sometimes I just forgot to control myself.

In the view of games, I do find myself following the league of Ng Jun Tat, Kong Weng Hong and Shaun Kam... Not. My pride is at stake here. If I get seriously xia lan over a game I might as well not have a life. I just tend to tell them to STFU or criticise their playing skills over and over again, which means that I'm contradicting myself. So I'll just say that I do not take what I said seriously.

How to see me as xia lan: Open your ears, and listen for "[insert name here], shut up".

If you find this wonderfully meaningless and boring topic meaninglessly wonderful and extremely boring, please note that I myself am bored out of my wits. So basically this is the end of my wonderfully meaningless and lamely boring post.
