THE LAST thing I expected the Ministry of Education to do on the JAE results release day is to send an SMS in the wee hours of the morning. For f***s sake I only slept for 1 hour before I received the message! Damn Devil May Cry 4, but not damn Eoin Colfer for making me so addicted to his latest instalment (I read from 1am to 5am, for your information).
Well, with eight points clear ahead of the cut-off, I wasn't surprised when I saw what I got, but nevertheless fisted the air jubilantly. Now all I hope for is that scholarship I've been eyeing for a few weeks. They'd better call.
Now on to the non-education part.
-------------------------
MARCUS POON came early, possibly breaking the "Earliest Guest" record set by JT. I played my Devil May Cry 4 while he messed around with his cards for the next few hours. No one else came, so no mahjong, as he and I fervently hoped. We had lunch with my parents soon after, then I went home, leaving him to his card-selling-buying business.
Dental appointment at 4pm, was late 15 minutes due to extreme laziness and *excuses*fatigue*excuses*. The dentist told me my bracers would be due in a couple of months if I followed his instructions carefully (which is now a problem due to me suffering from "Lack-of-Brainwork Disorder", resulting in snail-paced thinking, temporal muscular incapacitation [in a nutshell, increased clumsiness] and enhanced pronunciation difficulty). I'm trying, I guess...
After that I headed for Plaza Singapura to meet up with Marcus (Poon), JT, Yao Yang, Nick, Bryan, Daniel (Chan) and Xin Yi (all of them were watching a movie. It either lasted longer than I expected or the friggin' ads took a tad bit too long). We headed to Kovan, parting with JT, Xin Yi and Daniel (JT joined us afterwards) on the way, did some shopping, had our dinner and finally...
Played pool.
I needed that. The one hour of pool a day earlier didn't help much, since the other two players were leagues better than I am. At least I got to know I actually improved (a very, VERY small notch) and Bryan is actually quite good.
Still, I couldn't aim.
And that New Year's resolution I set for myself still has a long way to go before it finally reaches the finishing point...
...
...
I just remembered, Temasek Polytechnic doesn't have Pool. Hm...maybe I'll settle for Bowling instead.
